AM-355 is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel. It offers high strength at moderately elevated temperatures and its corrosion resistance is superior to other quench-hardenable martensitic stainless steels. Higher strengths can also be obtained through cold working processes.
Hardness shall not exceed 363 HB for diameter over .625 inch. Diameter .625 inch and under can have a hardness as high at 375 HB.
Common Melting Process is ARC/AOD – ESR.
Common Heat Treat Condition: Annealed, sub-zero cooled, equalized and over-tempered.
